I didn’t quite make it through Mere Christianity, but I still gained some valuable knowledge in my research of the text. First and foremost, C.S. Lewis is a fantastic author and in not finishing his book I feel that I have offended him. His style of writing is utterly amazing and I fully plan on finishing this book and therefore expanding upon my first move. What I did learn from my time with Mr. Lewis was a good lot of information on human nature. I found nearly all I expected to find on the subject I am researching in merely one chapter. This chapter is titled “What Lies Behind The Law,” and talks about laws of human nature and opinions we all share on how the heck we got here.  (ex. sets up hypothetical situations and explores what we do)...(I’d question these hypo ?s...are they universal??)

The overarching topic of this chapter is viewpoints of those who believe that space came to be by chance, and those who look at it as the work of some other being. This was valuable to me because I got to see the other side of my opinions. I tend to side with the chance argument, and have in the past found it difficult to listen to the other side’s opinion. However, a major goal of my Capstone is to open my eyes to all types of religion and grow more and more tolerant and accepting of things I know little about. Reading the first few chapters of Mere Christianity helped me gain clarity in what I wanted to achieve from this year long project, Although I did not receive an essay worth of knowledge, I received inspiration which, at this point in my capstone, was just what I needed. I think that after completing this move I have a firm grasp on what I would like to gain boatloads of knowledge on. They include: people’s views on how everything got here, different religions origins and fundamental blueprints, and a deeper understanding of space to hopefully broaden my knowledge on the topic and help produce beneficial writing and additional moves. This text developed new questions for me: what are the most popular opinions on how we all got here, what more can I learn about the laws of human nature, might C.S. Lewis have some books that are more relevant to what I am trying to learn.
